As some of you may know already I sing in a band called Flashback -it's a group we started when still at school in the late 70's. After a few years we all fizzled out and went off in search of other things in life. However, we recently reformed a couple of years ago whilst looking for something different to do on a Monday night instead of the Quiz Night at the White House pub.
We now meet on a Monday and sometimes a Friday evening and practice at the studio in Hartlepool where we knock out some old 70's, 80's and 90's tunes on real instruments. It's a laugh if nothing else and we don't pretend to be the next big thing - in fact we haven't played any gigs since the 80's.
Our current song list includes songs like: (don't laugh)
Black Magic Woman (Santana)
Dangerous Stranger (Be Bop Deluxe)
Pretty Woman (Roy Orbison)
2468 Motorway (Tom Robinson Band)
Abracadabra (Steve Miller Band)
Still Rock 'n' Roll to Me (Billy Joel)
Well Alright (Santana)
Dancing in the Moonlight ( Thin Lizzy)
Waiting for an Alibi (Thin Lizzy)
Who Says You Can't Go Home (Bon Jovi)
Suck on you (Elvis)
and more...
The guys in the band are:
Mick Larkin on drums
Davie Bell on lead guitar
Peter Bell on bass guitar
Anthony Stamp on rhythm
DJ Bell on second lead
and me.
We played a lot of venues in the 70's and 80's but we don't plan on rentering the circuit - it's just for fun and we enjoy it.
